Filthy XIII and Milk Thistle are the two Bristol bars battling it out for the title of ‘best bar in the West’. They are shortlisted alongside Hideout in Bath and Ojo Rojo in Bournemouth.

And Filthy XIII is also shortlisted in the national ‘cocktail of the year’ award for its Absinthe Frappe. It’s up against cocktails from bars in London, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Milk Thistle General Manager Sebastian Fileccia told BristolWorld: "It's an honour to be recognised by such a prestigious publication as CLASS for the hard work we do.

"The news has been a massive victory for the team and company, and it's wonderful to be nominated among such fine company and be featured alongside some of our favourite bars!

"We're very much looking forward to the awards - thank you to all those who voted for Milk Thistle for the best in the West!"
