Eight fire engines were called out to tackle the early morning blaze but thankfully nobody was injured.

And now Pinkmans has provided an update on when the popular Park Street bakery and cafe might reopen.

In a post on social media, owner Eddie Perez said: “Thank you to everyone who’s offered help and support. Bristol friends and community, we feel truly humbled by your kindness and generosity.

“We know the reopening Park Street is going to be a slow process. We’ve been told six months to a year, but we’ve been told longer.”

Mr Perez went on to ask customers to support the Pinkmans cafe on Gloucester Road and sibling business 25a Old Market in the meantime.

He said: “We are trying to keep our team motivated and think of new ideas but for now, all we can say is that it’s going to be a long road to recovery and the door is shut at 85 Park Street. As soon as things uncover we will let you know.”
