Motorists are being asked to avoid the area around Ashton Meadows in south Bristol as firefighters deal with a burst water main that has flooded a nearby road.

According to traffic monitoring service INRIX, the A370 Jessop Underpass is blocked in both directions and water has gone into Brunel Way and surrounding roads. Fire services are trying to move vehicles and one car is said to be stuck under the bridge.

Clift House Road and Coronation Road are also closed to traffic.

A Bristol Water spokesperson said: “An inspector is on site and a crew are already en route. Customers affected may have low water pressure or no water.”
