The Galleries shopping centre and car park have closed due to a power cut.

Engineers are currently on site trying to fix the issue, which the management say they hope will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Signs posted on the main doors alert visitors to the BEH Assessment Centre inside The Galleries that all appointments have been cancelled due to the power supply problem.

Shipleys Bingo at The Galleries, which has a separate entrance on Union Street, is open for business as usual.

When Bristol World spoke to a member of staff at Shipleys Bingo, they said they hadn’t been contacted by anybody at The Galleries but said they could see the lights were still on in the shopping centre despite the power cut.

This is a breaking story and Bristol World has contacted The Galleries for an update.
