Bennet mansion from BBC’s 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice goes up for sale near Bristol

The £6m home once played host to Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle

One lucky buyer will have the chance to live out their Jane Austen fantasies after this stunning mansion went on the market near Bristol.

Luckington Court, just 20 miles outside of Bristol city centre in Chippenham, is an eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom 11th-century dwelling house which retains a number of unique Tudor features.

Fans of the BBC’s 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice will recognise it as Longbourn, the Bennet family home.

The TV hit starred Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr Darcy, and made use of interior and exterior shots of the property.

The house is just the beginning, though - the Grade II listed building also boasts an integral flat, five Cotswold stone cottages, farm buildings and wild meadow.

Wooley & Wallis, the estate agents listing the property, say there are plenty of opportunities for ‘residential and commercial income streams’.

With a £6,00,000 price tag, it’s currently the most expensive property on the market in Wiltshire.
