A Bristol artist has released her own set of Christmas cards which feature her paintings of the city covered in snow.

Jenny Urquhart has been painting for 13 years and already produces greeting cards, but this is the first year she has created a pack of festive-themed cards.

The pack of four cards include Jenny’s prints of a snowy Clifton Suspension Bridge, a winter walk on the Downs and children sledging on Redland Green Park.

“I absolutely love snow and Bristol just doesn’t have enough snow so every time it slows, I’m out there at 6am taking photos,” said Jenny.

“I’ve been asked many times by customers if I am ever going to produce Christmas cards and have finally found a manufacturer who can produce them cheap enough,” she added.

Jenny, who lives in Westbury Park, used to be a science teacher and started painting for the first time after giving up her teaching career in 2010.

The 45-year-old is also a patron of Bristol-based adoption agency CCS Adoption, for which she produces Christmas cards on an individual basis.

As well as paintings in various styles of Bristol, she also sells a Bristol-themed jigsaw, magnets and has recently released a pack playing cards inspired by the city.

The pack of four Christmas cards, which cost £9.99, are available on Jenny’s website and also the Room 212 art gallery on Gloucester Road.
