A man has been arrested after an assault at a property led to a victim being treated for his injuries at a supermarket in Bristol.

The ambulance service made police aware at about 12.15pm on Sunday (March 24) that they were treating a man in his 40s at an address in College Court in Fishponds for the injuries he sustained.

The man received further treatment later in the day for the same injuries outside the Morrisons supermarket on Fishponds Road, but did not require hospital treatment.

He entered the store with a hand injury and asked for a first aider, BristolWorld understands, and an ambulance was called to assist.

A 54-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody. He was released on bail following a police interview and enquiries are ongoing.
