Amazon has issued an official statement after Extinction Rebellion protests caused disruption at 13 warehouses across the UK.

Hide AdThe company’s site in Avonmouth, which is just outside of Bristol, is at a standstill after protesters blocked main entrances from 4am in the morning.
The protest started during one of the biggest days in retail - Black Friday, and XR are hoping to influence a change in Amazon’s business practices.
Members of the group have accused the billion dollar giants of having a ‘climate-destructive’ output.

Hide AdReports suggest that the protests will last as long as two days - so Amazon has issued an official response.
A company spokesperson stated: “At Amazon, we take our responsibilities very seriously.
“That includes our commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040 – 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement – providing excellent pay and benefits in a safe and modern work environment, and supporting the tens of thousands of British small businesses who sell on our store.
