Aldi reveals plans to build huge new supermarket on the Bath Road near Bristol

Aldi is bringing forward a planning application to open a huge new supermarket on the Bath Road near Keynsham.

The new discount supermarket would be located on fields between the La Famiglia restaurant and the Esso garage between Keynsham and Saltford.

Aldi say it would create up to 40 jobs in-store and the discount retailer is starting a community consultation to gather insights from the residents of Keynsham before it submits a formal planning application.

This community consultation will be open to comments until Sunday 17 December 2023.

Once the community consultation concludes, Aldi will review all the feedback received before submitting the planning application to Bath and North East Somerset Council in the subsequent months.

The Aldi store would have a sales area of 1,350sqm and provision for over 100 customer parking spaces with free parking for 90 minutes.
