A person has died after three cars caught fire in a major crash near Bristol Airport this morning. The A38 Bridgwater Road between the Airport Tavern and Dial Lane is currently closed.

Police, fire crews and ambulance workers were called to the collision shortly after 7.30am. One person was pronounced dead, while a second person is being treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Avon and Somerset Police released a statement confirming the death of one person at the scene of the crash.
