Whether it’s the kick off the working day or to help clear a weekend hangover, there’s nothing like a cooked breakfast.
Of course, you can make one at home but if you want to save on the washing up, why not head to your local greasy spoon cafe instead.
We asked Bristol World readers where they go for a proper cooked breakfast and they chose a range of cafes across the city.
Here are nine of the top choices from our readers and if we’ve left out your favourite, please let us know so we can add it to our list.
1. Top Nosh, Soundwell Road, Kingswood
Located at the Kingswood end of Soundwell Road, this popular greasy spoon serves a range of cooked breakfasts including the ‘Mega’ comprising four rashers of bacon, four sausages, four eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, fried potatoes, fried bread, toast and a separate plate of bread and butter.
2. Cater Road Cafe, Cater Road, Bishopsworth
The Cater Road Cafe opened seven years ago and it’s busier than ever. Go for the £6.50 Bumper Breakfast - that’s two rashers of bacon, two sausages, two eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, toast, beans and tomatoes with a mug of tea or coffee.
3. Filton Feast, Filton Avenue
Popular with Bristol Rovers fans lining their stomachs before a game, the Filton Feast serves a cracking cooked breakfast and it’s open six days a week.
4. Mario’s Cafe, Hollway Road, Stockwood
Mario’s is something of a Stockwood institution and it’s no wonder when many of the cooked breakfasts are still under a fiver.
