9 amazing photos showing the timeless commuter village 20 minutes from Bristol

With its 14th-century church and medieval village green, this Somerset village is steeped in history

For many, it’s simply another railway station on the line between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare but the Somerset village of Yatton is a highly desirable place steeped in history.

Famous as the starting point of the Strawberry Line cycle path to Cheddar, many houses in the village date back to the 14th-century when the stunning Grade I-listed St Mary’s Church was built.

Walk along the high street and you’ll find a book shop, hardware store and a small shopping precinct with charity shops, vets and a cafe called That Coffee Place.

Its close proximity to Bristol (if you get the fast train, it takes barely 15 minutes from Yatton to Temple Meads) and with good links for London, it’s no wonder people are looking for stunning period properties in Yatton.

Here are nine photos that show why the peaceful village of Yatton has become such a desirable place.
