A damaged bus, smashed railway bridge and obliterated road signs - the aftermath of a lorry driver’s rampage

Bristol World visited the scene today (Dec 7) to observe the aftermath of the incident

The outskirts of Bristol resembled the scene of an action movie last night (Dec 6) after a lorry crashed into a bus, several cars, a railway bridge and multiple road signs during a chaotic rampage.

A 50-year-old man remains in police custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving. The incident came to an end on Oldland Common’s High Street, leaving a trail of destruction throughout the village. The busy A431 Bath Road was temporarily closed and several bus services through the area were suspended as crews cleared debris from the scene.
