The outskirts of Bristol resembled the scene of an action movie last night (Dec 6) after a lorry crashed into a bus, several cars, a railway bridge and multiple road signs during a chaotic rampage.
A 50-year-old man remains in police custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving. The incident came to an end on Oldland Common’s High Street, leaving a trail of destruction throughout the village. The busy A431 Bath Road was temporarily closed and several bus services through the area were suspended as crews cleared debris from the scene.
Onlookers reported the vehcile slamming into multiple cars before clipping the underside of a railway bridge used by Avon Valley Railway on the A431 Bath Road in Willsbridge. Here are seven pictures showing the aftermath the morning after the crash.
