They may not always turn up on time - and sometimes they don’t turn up at all - but many of us still rely on Bristol buses every week for work, college, shopping or going out.

Bristol’s buses can be traced back to 1875 when George White formed the Bristol Tramways Company and began a horse drawn service from Upper Maudlin Street and Blackboy Hill.

Motor buses were introduced in 1906, mainly around the centre and Clifton, and the bus service was expanded soon after.
