8 amazing old photos of Stockwood in Bristol and how it has changed over the years

Many older residents can still remember when it was mostly farmland

Stockwood is the outermost suburb in south Bristol and surrounded by green space and wooded valleys.

As well as two large housing estates built in the 1960s, Stockwood has well-supported shops on Hollway Road and there are two pubs left - The Concorde and The Harvesters.

It’s a tight-knit community and many older people living there can remember when most of the area was still farmland.

We’ve had a look through the archives to find eight photos of Stockwood over the years. Do you recognise the places?
