Bristol fire: Major response as 12 fire engines rushed to tackle blaze near Leigh Woods

A flat fire in Leigh Woods has prompted a major response with 12 fire engines and specialist appliances on the scene.

The fire broke out 6.40am at a flat on Bannerleigh Road, Leigh Woods.

12 fire engines are at the incident, alongside specialist appliances, including two turntable ladders and a command unit.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service assure there have been no injuries.

Bridge Road in Clifton is closed until the incident is dealt with.

The fire has now been extinguished and the cause is currently unknown.

Firefighters remain on the scene to ensure the fire has not spread and make the scene safe.
