To the north-west of the city centre, the suburb of Henbury was originally a village in Gloucestershire but became part of Bristol in the early 20th century.

Famous for Blaise Castle Estate, the Hazel Brook river flows through Henbury and crosses Henbury Road in a small ford under a small bridge.

The landscape of Henbury changed dramatically in the 1960s as high-rise tower blocks were built in the area.
