Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary is a fairly small cat and dog sanctuary which opened in 1992 just outside of Bristol, in Wild Country Lane, Barrow Gurney.
A wide range of adorable pets of different ages are available for adoption, including Cocker Spaniels, Tabbies and DSH cats.
Below are 12 of the rescue centre’s residents, who would love to find a permanent home in Bristol. Some of these cute cats and dogs are living in the kennels at the centre, whilst others are staying at a ‘home from home’.
Could you be their new fur-ever family? More information about the adoption process is available via Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary’s website.

1. Bobby, approximately 5 year old male Black & White DSH
"Bobby is a beautiful boy who sadly arrived at Holly Hedge as a stray. He is looking for a calm, quiet, adult only home with people who have the time and patience needed for Bobby to get to know and trust you. As he had been stray for so long and left to his own devices, Bobby has not had a good relationship with humans for some time, so understandably he is wary of new people and surroundings. It’s taken a while, but Bobby has become much more confident with the cattery team, and after getting to know them better he enjoys having a fuss, and will even nudge you for more. Bobby also likes to snuggle down next to you for some nice comfy and warm company and the occasional snooze. If you have the time, patience and love to give Bobby where he can have a safe space for the rest of his life, gaining his trust and love may be one the most rewarding things you can do." | Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

2. Boo, 4-year-old female Black & White DSH
"Boo is a lovely black and white female cat, who has sadly found herself back at Holly Hedge through no fault of her own. She can be shy but is affectionate. Boo would benefit from a quiet home where there are no other pets, and where children are older. She came from a busy home, and sadly found this too overwhelming at times. She can be sensitive to loud or sudden noises, so we know she will enjoy a calmer environment. Boo enjoys a little fuss and is friendly, so she is looking for a gentle calm home where she can feel relaxed, and start to enjoy life again in a more comfortable environment for her needs. 3. Buzz & Rudy, 6-year-old male Grey & Black DSH cats
"Buzz and Rudy are two handsome chaps who arrived at Holly Hedge after finding their previous home a bit stressful with the new changes in the home so are looking for a quiet adult only home. Buzz and Rudy are a little shy and wary initially but they do like a gentle fuss to be made of them and will come and settle down next to you for a snooze. They do like to play and enjoy going out for adventures and basking the sunshine. Rudy was in a road traffic accident last year where he lost one of his back legs. This doesn’t faze him and he manages perfectly fine with three legs! These two boys are wonderful characters who will brighten up anyone’s day. " | Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

4. Ginge, 8-year-old male Ginger & White DSH
"Ginge found himself here at Holly Hedge due to his owners moving and not being able to take him with them. Ginge is a very handsome boy, who has shown himself to be very loving and affectionate. Enjoying a good fuss, but also enjoying some independence where he likes to occupy himself playing with his toys. Ginge will absolutely keep you entertained with his antics. And at the end of a busy day he’ll be finding a comfy bed, sofa, or lap to cuddle into for a lovely snooze." | Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary
