There are numerous ways to compare Bristol’s different neighbourhoods, but perhaps the most reliable is to seek the views of the residents living there.
The Bristol Quality of Life Survey did that, asking whether people around the city were satisfied with their local area.
The latest figures from the 2024/25 survey show the neighbourhoods where the greatest percentage of people declared themselves happy with the area in which they live.
Below are the top 15 areas within the city based on resident satisfaction, together with how much it costs to buy a house in each of those areas.
The house price data is for the year ending in September 2024 for the closest corresponding Middle layer Super Output Area (MSOA) neighbourhood or neighbourhoods, based on the latest figures published by the Office for National Statistics in March 2025.
Some of the areas with the highest resident satisfaction are also among Bristol’s most expensive places to live, including one where the average house costs more than £750,000.
But other neighbourhoods on the list are much more affordable, with a typical home there costing less than £300,000 in one case.
For comparison, the average house price in Bristol as a whole was £367,000 in March 2025, according to ONS data, having risen by nine per cent since March 2024.
