Meat lovers who pile their plate with pigs-in-blankets during Christmas Dinner are set to rejoice as the world’s first restaurant where everything is made out of the bacon-wrapped treats lands in Bristol.

You read that right - everything from the desserts to the drinks features the festive favourite in some way or another.

The pop-up eaterie is being launched by The Jolly Hog at their Pigsty shop for three days only - Friday, December 3, which is also National Pigs in Blankets Day, until Sunday, December 5.

Diners can expect to ‘pig out’ on dishes such as PIB cocktail, a take on the prawn and Thousand Island dressed dish, mince PIB Pies, a throwback to the original recipe served in the early Middle Ages, and Festive Fondue, a baked camembert served with piles of pigs in blankets for dipping.

Those who have a sweet tooth can indulge in PIBfiteroles bursting with bacon jam, to warm candy bacon and apple Hognuts topped with a miniature version of the bacon and sausage side.

And to wash it down, attendees can sip on cocktails garnished with… you guessed it, pigs-in-blankets.

Olly Kohn from The Jolly Hog said, “We love hearing how much our customers love our pigs in blankets, and we thought it was high time these porky treats get the attention they deserve in the run up to Christmas.

“Something so delicious shouldn’t be relegated to the side of a plate of turkey and sprouts.

“As well as being packed with PIBs, our chefs have made sure every item on the menu tastes as banging as our bangers, because our customers are used to getting the best.”

For those who plan to enjoy the festive feast with friends and family, the chefs at Pigsty have also created a shareable Christmas Dinner Trifle – containing layers of creamy mash, cranberry-soaked brioche and of course the star ingredient.

A choux bun filled with apple compote, vanilla creme patisserie & bacon jam, maple syrup buttercream and then a PIB and candied bacon to garnish.

· Christmas Dinner Trifle

Chunks of brioche soaked in Cointreau flavoured cranberry sauce layered with Pigs in blankets, and topped with pipped mash potato, crumbled candied bacon and pea shoots.

· Hognut

Warm candy bacon and apple doughnut, topped with a PIB

Mini Yorkshire puddings with PIBS and onion gravy
