Uncle Wah: We had lunch at Gloucester Road's newest Dim Sum parlour and can't wait to come back
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Uncle Wah has recently opened its second Bristol branch on Gloucester Road.
The second venue is located at the former home of Bristol Loaf’s wine venture and offers a “vibrant, neon-infused twist on traditional Chinese classics.”

We decided to have lunch at the new Gloucester Road Dim Sum parlour and can't wait to go back.
Despite not having a booking, I was able to quickly get a table at the popular restaurant.

A wide range of music played over the speakers at a reasonable volume and intertwined with the chatter of other customers.

Hide AdThe restaurant had a wooden-coloured palette which provided a homely feeling.
An unusual quirk is that ordering is done through a QR code link, which also gives the option to ask for assistance and ask for the bill.
The menu includes a variety of Steamed Dimsum like the Seafood Rainbow Platter (£15.99) and Beancurd Skin Rolls (£5.29), and Fried Dimsum like Tempura Mixed Vegetables (£5.29) and Fried Duck Spring Rolls (£6.49).

As for drinks, soft drinks, milkshakes, tea, coffees and alcoholic beverages are on offer.
I opted for the Wong Lo Kat Herbal Tea (£2.99), a Mixed Vegetable Ramen (£11.99), Rainbow Vegetable Dumplings (£5.29) and Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls (£5.29).
I was surprised at how quick the service was as the whole meal was beautifully dished and brought to the table within around 10 minutes.

Hide AdAn unusual aspect of the ramen was that it didn't come with broth. The warm noodles were smooth and soft.
It blended well with the mix of beansprouts, crunchy stem broccoli and onions, thinly cut crunchy carrots, juicy Pak Choi and soft, crunchy mushrooms, beautifully topped with sesame seeds. The dish was filling and full of flavour.
The spring rolls had a thin, crunchy exterior and a soft filling that paired well with the sweet chilli sauce that came with the dish.

As for the dumplings, the colourful, vibrant scheme brought a smile to my face. It was soft and full of flavour with a slightly sweet and spicy aftertaste.
