Fast food halal burger restaurant Fat Twins has opened in a former Subway in Easton.

Serving beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian burgers, the store in Lansdown Road opened on November 4.

It is owned by local businessman Riaz Ahmed, who also runs Al Noor Supermarket next door.

Mr Ahmed has lived in the city for 47 years and said he aimed to provide a friendly takeaway with multicultural offerings at the new takeaway.

He said: “We wanted to bring the halal concept of McDonald’s and Burger King - Fat Twins have a very similar product and we knew it would be a great attraction.”

Alongside burgers, the store also sells hot wings, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken and chili cheese nuggets.

And it sells three types of karak chai including original, masala chai and Kashmiri pink.

The restaurant’s food will soon also be available on Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
