The Good Beer Guide for 2022 is out and Bristol shines with four new entries

The Good Beer Guide has released their list for 2022 and, as ever, Bristol shines with four new entries.

The guide was created by CAMRA who campaigns for real ale.

Their volunteers have gone to every single pub or bar listed in the guide so you know you’re getting the real deal.

Bristol has some fantastic pubs selling proper ale,so it’s great to see the city getting the recognition it deserves.

Check out these new entries or find an old favourite.

A champion of local breweries, The Christmas Steps pub has a craft beer and ale rotation policy to ensure variety for their customers. With seasonal food using ingredients from local producers their main focus is on quality and innovation. Live DJs on the weekend and a cracking soundtrack throughout the week make this a destination hot spot regardless of the day.

Passionate about real ale, sports and pool, the Annexe is unique in that it is a pub within the Sportsman pub.

The Sportsman dates back to the late 1800’s with the Annexe converted from an old stable block in the 1970s.

Part of the Wickwar Wessex Pub Company, they specialise in a great selection of cask conditioned ales and world lagers making it an obvious addition to the Good Beer Guide.

In the heart of Clifton, Eldon House is a traditional pub with a twist.

With live music on Sundays and seasonal events like Halloween Film Night, this pub is a neighbourhood favourite with locals flocking to it for its atmosphere as much as its extensive ale menu.

Serving traditional pub fare like hot dogs and loaded fries they also serve breakfast on Friday mornings.

This family country pub is full of surprises.

They showcase a variety of quirky and unique guest ales that you won’t find in many other places, which is probably what secured their spot on the Good Beer Guide.

Offering beer from breweries like St. Austell, Butcombe and Cotswold Spring their quality is high and their variety is great.

An extensive lunch and dinner rounds out their offering and is sure to attract locals and those from further afield.
