A ‘much-loved’ pub in Bristol is celebrating its recent refurbishment by giving away free booze to football fans.

The Anchor, on Gloucester Road in Horfield, is treating Bristol Rovers supporters to a pint of Thatchers Gold, Haze or Blood Orange this Saturday (November 9), before the big match against Lincoln City.

Gasheads simply need to sign up here by today (November 8) at 4pm to claim their pint.

The pub is also hosting a Q&A session with Rovers legend Lee Mansell later this month, revisiting his iconic penalty win at Wembley.

Filip Mezak, general manager of The Anchor, said: “As the home of Bristol sport, we’re excited to be giving away a free pint of Thatchers for fans to enjoy ahead of the big game against Lincoln.

“Make sure to sign up to the webpage and speak to a friendly member of staff to claim your free drink.”

He added: “We also can’t wait to host Rovers’ legend Lee Mansell here on Tuesday, November 19 for what promises to be an unforgettable evening reflecting on a remarkable day at Wembley.

“We all remember where we were when that penalty went in and I know Lee can’t wait to meet everyone and will even be bringing along the match ball from the play-off final.

“Tickets are on sale now and we’re expecting them to sell out quick so ensure you act fast!”
