Popular Bristol Thai restaurant reveals opening date of third site - here's where and when

The team behind one of the city’s fastest growing restaurant groups is set to open their third location this September.

Mangosteen is due to open at 187 Gloucester Road, in what was previously the site of Saab Indian Dining, on Tuesday, September 2.

It will be the popular Thai restaurant’s third site in the city, with other locations on Cotham Hill and North Street in Bedminster.

Speaking about the latest opening from the group, operations manager Loki Stokes said: “Bristol as a city is well-characterised by Gloucester Road - it's a colourful, busy, lively part of town, just as Bristol is. That also felt like a good match for Mangosteen.

“There is a lot of foot traffic, and we always look to seat walk-ins and big groups, and having a bigger site is going to allow us to bring the Mangosteen experience to more people who might not have visited our other two sites before.

He added: “Some of our favourite restaurants as a team are on Gloucester Road, and some of our favourite late-night spots are on the street.

“We are excited for the after-work nights-out, and to open up in a beautiful part of Bristol, a part of Bristol which is home for many of our staff and customers.”

Founded in 2023 by Kedar Subedi and the team behind Indian restaurant RockSalt, Magosteen offers quick, delicious and authentic Thai dishes.

Mangosteen on Gloucester Road opens on Tuesday, September 2, with hours from 4pm to 10.45pm (Tuesday to Thursday), 1pm to 10.45pm (Friday to Saturday), and 1pm to 9.45pm (Sunday). Takeaway on Deliveroo starts the same day.
