The application says: “The premises shall consist of a wine bar establishment serving cold or heated premade food in the form of meze and small plates.

“There will be an outside space which the applicant is looking to utilise as a serving space with table service.

“The premises will remain open until midnight, but the kitchen is looking to stop serving around 10.30pm.”

The venue will occupy former office space at 35 King Street, where Indian restaurant The Raj is also based.

The Grade II listed building, near Bristol Old Vic, was built around 1870 and is an example of the Bristol Byzantine style.
