A Bristol pub is set to host the city’s first-ever independent crisp tasting championships.

The event, hosted by the Robin Hood on St Michael’s Hill on November 2, aims to “bring together crisp enthusiasts, foodies, and anyone with a passion for savoury snacks to celebrate and discover some of the finest independent crisp brands from across the UK”.

It will feature more than 30 of the UK’s top independent brands, representing a wide variety of flavours and styles, including Savoursmiths, The British Crisp Co., Made for Drink, Nim’s and Wholesome Crunch.

There will be a public tasting session, where attendees can sample crisps from each brand and vote for their favourites.

There will also be special guest judges from Bristol’s food and celebrity scene, who will help crown the “Best Independent Crisp” in categories such as Most Unique Flavour, Best Texture, and Overall Champion.

And there will of course be live music and drinks from the Robin Hood, which has recently launched a new Vietnamese food menu under its new owners.
