'This hasn’t been an easy decision to make' - Popular Bristol hot dog restaurant to close

A restaurant in Bristol which serves hot dogs and beer slushies has announced plans to close after three years. 

Dog Town, which is based at Cargo 2 in Wapping Wharf, says it will be closing at the end of the month.

The restaurant was opened in 2021 as a collaboration between Squeezed owner Alex Hayes, fellow chef Ben Nash and The Beer Necessities' Henry Revel.

In an Instagram post about the closure, Dog Town said it “hasn’t been an easy decision”.

“We will be closing our doors for the last time at the end of October,” it wrote. 

“First and foremost, we would like to thank all of our amazing customers over the years, especially all of our regulars. 

“It's been an absolute pleasure to satisfy your hot dog needs.

“You're the reason our business has been so successful, and we can't thank you all enough.

“We would also like to thank all of our amazing staff from past to present, you are the true stars of our business and the life blood of our operation. 

“Without you, we simply wouldn't have made it this far.”

It added: “This hasn't been an easy decision to make, as we value our staff and customers immensely. 

“However we feel it is time for us personally to put aside the sausages to pursue other avenues in our careers/lives. 

“We will be operating as usual throughout October, so please pop in to say hi!”
