A Costa Coffee outlet in Bristol is set to close for most of this month while it undergoes refurbishment.

The site at Southmead Hospital will close on Saturday, January 4, with hoarding to be installed the next day and works starting the day after that.

It is the smaller of two Costa sites at Southmead Hospital, opposite the main entrance of the Brunel Building.

The Brunel Building’s larger Costa outlet, M&S Food, the League of Friends coffee shop and the Willow Café (outside maternity services) will remain open throughout the closure period.

The work forms part of a wider project to improve the retail facilities on offer inside the Brunel.

The building’s larger Costa Coffee outlet, also on the ground floor, was renovated in September 2024 and a new M&S Food and bakery opened last month.

The new-look Costa Coffee is expected to reopen at the end of January.
