Court Farm: I visited a stunning farm near Bristol and had my heart stolen by the adorable lambs

My heart was stolen by the precious lambs and baby animals at a stunning farm near Bristol.

Located a 40-minute drive from Bristol, at Wolvershill Road, Banwell, Court Farm Country Park is home to a wide range of adorable farm animals from pigs to sheep, emus, guinea pigs, ponies and goats, to name a few.

If you are arriving by public transport, like myself, the farm is a bit trickier to reach.

I caught the local train to Worle Station and hopped onto the X11 for four stops. As I started the half-hour walk to the farm, I soon realised the route was not secure as Google Maps led me into a path across the road, so I decided to take an Uber instead. I found the easiest way to reach the farm (which would be my route back) was to travel by train to Worle Station and Ubering (about £7) to the farm and vice versa.

Once at Court Farm, I was able to catch the 11.30am lamb bottle feeding session at the animal barn, which is also home to cows and calves.

At the event, children were encouraged to take turns bottle-feeding the adorable lambs, some of which were only two to four weeks old.

After appreciating the adorable baby animals and tiny, soft lambs, I decided to take a stroll around the rest of the farm.

There was a wide range of activities across the farm, especially for children, including a kid-size digger, and indoor and an outdoor playground, a ‘milking cow’ that squirts water and a stationary tractor for families to take photos on.

At the Play Barn, I was able to meet some the resident goats, including two adorable baby goats which looked like they were only days old.

As I continued my stroll, I saw some of the adorable guinea pigs and rabbit in a nearby barn and the beautiful Shetland ponies in a field at the centre of the farm.

After saying ‘hi’ to the pigs, I was awed by the views of the nearby pond and field were sheep were grazing and emus were roaming free.

I took a break at the Tea Room near the entrance were I enjoyed a refreshing iced latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup, alongside a delicious chocolate brownie and my packed lunch.

I visited the outdoor playground, where Valais Blacknose sheep mingled at a nearby enclosed area.

I had a browse at the Gift shop were I bought a few gifts for my family, before strolling back to watch the animals and the adorable baby animals taking a nap.

I eventually ended back at the animal barn, my favourite spot of the day, were I watched and petted the adorable lambs until the 3pm bottle feeding session.

Afterward, I took the chance to have a free ride on the back of the tractor, which made its way across some field, including next to a sheep field, before calling it a day.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable day out. There’s a lot of enjoyable facilities, especially for families with young children. And it’s perfect for this time of the year as you will be able to part take in lamb bottle-feeding events and meet the adorable baby animals.
