Could you be their new fur-ever family?
Below are 6 of the rescue centre’s residents, who would love to find a permanent home in Bristol. More information about the adoption process is available via Bristol Animal Rescue Centre’s website.

1. Reggie, 8 year old male English Bulldog
"Meet Reggie, the English bulldog who has a lot of love to give and a lot of wrinkles too! Give Reggie a toy and he will happily run around, playing with them independently and will parade around showing you his favourites! Due to his age he has got confirmed arthritis but he copes really well on his pain relief and would like to have this continued in the home to keep him comfortable. He can be a bit unsure/worried of vets, so he would like to be able to meet them before he requires treatment so he can get to know them. Reggie loves some affection, especially a butt scratch, and enjoys meeting new people, often trying to introduce himself if he gets half the chance when he’s out on a walk. This does mean that he will sometimes pull to try to greet them! He’s a little anxious on the roads so would prefer to not walk on a main road but should be able to cope in a quieter residential area for his walks. Due to his arthritis, he needs access to a private garden so he won’t have to go far to toilet and make it worse. He can only go for short walks so would be suitable as a companion dog." | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

2. Coco, 5 year old female Crossbreed
"Coco is an active girl who loves her human companions. She is small in size and has boundless energy so we hope you have an active lifestlye – Coco would fit right in. She has been described as an “extraordinary dog with an eagerness to learn” from her care team here which is testament to her personality and how much she is liked! Coco will happily greet any person she meets but she doesn’t have interest in canine friends. She much prefers to hang out with her favourite humans all day and then sit next to you for a cuddle after a day of playing together. For this reason, she needs to be the only pet in an adult-only home as she can also get quite excitable and may mouth. Understandably, Coco doesn’t enjoy having dogs in her personal space. She happily stays on-lead and wears her muzzle during walkies and would love to accompany you on a jog or run. She hopes you will take her on adventures in the car and play with her off-lead in a secure dog field. As she is a switched-on and smart girl, she would love to do dog sports such as agility, scent-work or training with you whilst you’re there too. On your less adventurous or rainy days, Coco would benefit from having enrichment in the home to keep her inquisitive mind happy. She would love a big and private garden of her own to enjoy running around in. At the end of your day together, Coco will enjoy your calm home environment and would love nothing more than to fall asleep with you on the sofa with a good ear scratch!" | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

3. Greyson, 18 month old male Domestic Medium Haired
"Greyson is a friendly and affectionate boy who can be a little shy at first but with calm interaction soon comes around. He is happy playing with his toys on his own and with you and is keen to have a little chat. Greyson is currently in a foster home and since being there he has blossomed, enjoying the home environment and the additional TLC. Once comfortable he is a cat that will happily sit on your knee and also enjoy watching the world go by from the windowsill. This leads us to believe Greyson would enjoy having access to the outside world as long as it is a calm quiet area because he can be worried by loud noises, sudden movements etc. Greyson is on a sensitive food diet and we advise he takes a regular joint supplement to assist with his mobility long term." | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

4. Kola, 2 year old female Crossbreed
"Kola is a two-year-old brindle and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. She is a ball of joy who loves affection, having a good run around and going for long walks. She builds very strong bonds with her primary carers and once she gets to know you, she will be the most loyal dog you have met and will love you for life! Kola is bright, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. She’s very food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for her. She enjoys interactive games like scent work and enrichment activities that challenge her mind. While she can be bouncy and sometimes jumps up out of excitement, this is improving with ongoing training. She connects strongly with women and is a real “girls’ girl,” often finding it easier to relax and trust in female company. Kola can be nervous around unfamiliar men, and for safety and comfort, she wears a muzzle during introductions. However, she is calm and responsive to direction, and with patience and the right approach, she’s capable of forming trust over time. She prefers quiet walking routes where she feels secure and less overwhelmed by her surroundings. Kola is best suited to a female-only household, although homes with calm, patient men may be considered with a gradual introduction process and multiple meets. She will need to continue wearing a muzzle when meeting new men, and her training around this should be supported in her new home. Quiet walking routes and a peaceful environment will help her continue to build confidence. Her new family should be ready to provide plenty of enrichment, structure, and love, and in return, they’ll gain a deeply loyal and joyful companion." | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre
