Could you be their new fur-ever family?
Below are 7 of the rescue centre’s residents, who would love to find a permanent home in Bristol. More information about the adoption process is available via Bristol Animal Rescue Centre’s website.

1. Coco, 5 year old female Crossbreed
"Coco is an active girl who loves her human companions. She is small in size and has boundless energy so we hope you have an active lifestyle – Coco would fit right in. She has been described as an “extraordinary dog with an eagerness to learn” from her care team which is testament to her personality and how much she is liked! Coco will happily greet any person she meets but she doesn’t have interest in canine friends. She much prefers to hang out with her favourite humans all day and then sit next to you for a cuddle after a day of playing together. For this reason, she needs to be the only pet in an adult-only home as she can also get quite excitable and may mouth. Understandably, Coco doesn’t enjoy having dogs in her personal space. She happily stays on-lead and wears her muzzle during walkies and would love to accompany you on a jog or run. She hopes you will take her on adventures in the car and play with her off-lead in a secure dog field. As she is a switched-on and smart girl, she would love to do dog sports such as agility, scent-work or training with you whilst you’re there too. On your less adventurous or rainy days, Coco would benefit from having enrichment in the home to keep her inquisitive mind happy. She would love a big and private garden of her own to enjoy running around in. At the end of your day together, Coco will enjoy your calm home environment and would love nothing more than to fall asleep with you on the sofa with a good ear scratch!" | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

2. Bridget, 6-year-old female Lurcher
"Bridget is a lovely Lurcher. She is a medium sized dog, tall and athletic. She can be a bit shy at first with strangers but once she gets to know you, is very friendly and sweet natured. She has a naturally inquisitive personality and likes to be the centre of attention. Bridget would thrive in a quieter home where she can have routine and a calm environment. She can find visiting the vets to be a scary experience and will need to be muzzled for this. Any new adopters would need to be prepared to continue her muzzle training. She is great on the lead and walks superbly, if eventually adopters would wish to let her off the lead, Lurchers have a high prey drive so should be muzzled to protect wildlife. This lovely girl has a short, easy to care for coat and as you can see, she is slim. Bridget will make someone a wonderful pet, once she gets to know you, she is friendly and loving and will make a great companion." | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

3. Potter, 5-month old male Crossbreed
"Potter the puppy is a medium-large crossbreed, likely a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Mastiff mix, who is growing in confidence daily! Being a young pup, he is naturally playful, curious and eager to learn more about the world. His adopter will need to be committed to helping him flourish into a well-rounded adult with training and patience. Potter came into Bristol Animal Rescue Centre with his siblings after having an uneasy start in life. He is currently in a foster home enjoying home comforts and learning the good-boy-basics like ‘sit’ and waiting politely for his food. He will take a short while to settle into a new home. Once he settles, his favourite activities are relaxing in the garden, searching for treats snuffle mat treats and playing with his elephant toy – plus snoozes on the sofa! As a mischievous pup, he will need someone who is around for most of the day. He is building confidence with being alone which is a working progress to be continued in his new home. However, he already sleeps in his bed time crate overnight with no issues. Potter can be excitable and a bit ‘full on’ with other dogs but could live with another if they would be happy with an energetic puppy. He could also live with slightly older children if they have experience with dogs/puppies and understand teething and puppy mouthing." 4. Winnie, 2 year old female Crossbreed
"Winnie is very friendly and loves to be around people. She is great on her walks and is friendly with other dogs. Winnie would love to join a family who are looking for a dog that is playful and tactile as she loves to be close to you in most things that she is doing. Winnie is a bigger dog, weighing at around 25kg and tends to get excited when she sees people approaching her on her walks, she likes to pull towards them and jump up. However, she is able to be calm and relaxed at the right times, she is very receptive to people and how they feel. She is very loving and sensitive to what is going on around her, which is such a nice quality to have in a dog. Experience with dogs is preferable, she seems unsure of her size at times and can play a little rough. Winnie has a condition called atopy, which can cause itchy ears from time to time. She’ll need ongoing medication to manage it, but this doesn’t affect her wonderful personality." To apply for Winnie, visit https://fave.co/42U0tcp | Bristol Animal Rescue Centre
