1. Go fossil hunting at Kilve Beach
Located within a 1-hour-20-minute drive from Bristol on the Jurassic Coast in Bridgwater, Kilve Beach is the perfect spot for fossil hunting, especially ammonites and reptile remains. 2. Meet the animals at Windmill Hill City Farm
Located in Bedminster, Windmill Hill City Farm is free to visit and open daily from 9am to 5pm. The city farm is home to a wide range of animals including cows, sheep and pigs, and also community gardens, a play area, picnic areas and a café and farm shop. 3. Explore the vast Leigh Woods
The vast forest covers two square kilometres of land to the west of Bristol's Avon Gorge, making it the largest area o ancient woodland in the city. Leigh Woods is also home to the largest and best preserved of three Iron Age hill forts built to guard the approach of the River Avon: Stokeleigh Camp. Its also home to The Green Barn and the Round House. The large nature reserve is half owned by National Trust and Forestry England, with a stone wall in the middle of the woodland, and offers hours of entertainment as you explore each corner. 4. Take in the magnificent views at Blaise Castle Estate
