1. Charlene, 10 year old female Domestic Short Haired
"Charlene is a lovely girl and is now looking for a home where she can be the only cat, so she can enjoy all of the attention to herself. At first, she can be nervous, but with time, patience and understanding, she does come out of her shell. Now that she has settled within her foster home, she has gained a lot of confidence – coming out more, following her carer around, and taking the opportunity to nap on their lap. She’s a girl who knows what she likes, especially when it comes to food! Charlene lived in a busy multi-cat household, but she’s shown us that she would prefer a quieter life where she doesn’t have to share attention. That’s why she’s now looking for a calm, loving home where she can truly relax and be herself. Charlene’s favourite treats are lick-e-lix, although she’s also partial to a biscuit treat now that she’s recovered from her dental. She enjoys chin rubs, burrowing under blankets or duvets, cuddles in bed, and looking out the window. While sitting on a human, she likes to include them in grooming sessions – although she is a bit of a dribbler! Although she has gained a lot of confidence, Charlene still doesn’t like sudden movements or loud noises and may run and hide until it’s over. She has recovered well from her recent dental treatment and is enjoying her favourite treats again. She’s doing well and is ready for her next chapter in a calm and understanding home." 2. Houdini, approximately 4 year old male Black DSH
"Meet Houdini, this handsome chap has a huge character and is full of life! A complete turn around from when he arrived at Holly Hedge. Houdini came to Holly Hedge after a concerned member of the public had noticed him hanging around for a little while. When he got to Holly Hedge he was in a very sorry state with a burst abscess that needed immediate treatment and unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. He also needed extensive surgery on his eye and a dental. This has all been carried out and the difference is amazing. With no pain, Houdini’s real self has emerged and it is just wonderful. He is incredibly friendly, adores attention, loves a lap and just being in the company of his carers. They have described him as a smooth talker and a bit of a flirt! Houdini is FIV+ which means he will require an indoor home or a home with a catio/secure garden." To apply for Houdini, visit https://fave.co/44k92Qe | Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

3. Sophia, 6 year old female Domestic Short Haired
"Sophia is an incredibly special cat with a personality that shines when she feels safe and comfortable. As you can see from the pictures of her, she does have a slightly bald back end which we believe is due to fleas and stress. Now that she has received a flea treatment and has relaxed into her environment, the fur has started to grow back and hopefully she will soon have a full gleaming coat. Sophia is a sweet girl who loves nothing more than rubbing her head on any available surface until she is rolling on her back. She is not one for sitting on your lap but she adores being next to people. Sophia does not like people standing over her or attempting to pick her up so she will need an understanding person who is willing to get on her level to give her attention. This beautiful girl really likes to climb and be up high, any form of climbing frame or cat tree would be beneficial for her but not essential. Being an indoor cat, any kind of stimulation and a variety of toys will keep her happy and content. She has just started to become comfortable enough to play with toys and is quite enjoying plastic balls with bells in them. Sophia is FIV+ and is unable to live with any other cats.
