There are currently five ‘pop up clinics’ across Bristol where you can receive a Covid-19 booster jab.

Last week, the region’s director of public health, Christina Gray, told BristolWorld that taking up their booster was one of the way residents could help relieve pressure on the NHS as hospitals in the city entered their highest level or alert.

She said: “We live in an era where millions of lives have been saved across the globe from vaccination.

“First, second, third, booster. Wherever you are in that process, clinically vulnerable or not, go out and get it.

“We have set up local walk-in clinics so if you are eligible for a first, second or booster shot you can get it quickly (the third ones are for the clinically extremely vulnerable, so you would have to go to your GP for that).”

Health Secretary Sajid Javid has also strongly urged whoever is eligible to receive the COVID-19 booster jab to go out and get it.

The Health Secretary said: “We know immunity begins to wane after six months, especially for the elderly and the vulnerable, and booster vaccines will top-up their protection to keep people safe over the winter.

“I strongly urge everybody who is eligible for a COVID-19 booster or flu vaccine to take up the offer as soon as you can.

“For those not yet eligible, please help your parents, grandparents or vulnerable loved ones get their jabs, it could save their life.”

People in the categories below are eligible for the vaccine:
