Covid-19 booster jab Bristol: The GP practices offering walk-in booster clinics in the city

GPs in Bristol are offering boosters at walk-in clinics for patients as the vaccination effort steps up a gear in the run-up to Christmas.

It comes after Boris Johnson promised a booster vaccine to all eligible adults in England by the new year in response to the Omicron variant.

Everyone aged 18 and over can get a booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine, although it must be three months since your second dose.

Your GP should contact you if you are required to book a slot.

The Greenway, Greenway Community Centre

The Greenway will be holding vaccination clinics at the practice on the following dates:

• Friday 17^th December 13:00 – 17:00
• Sunday 19^th December 09:00 – 13:00 & 14:00 – 18:00

The practice will be sending invitations to all eligible patients via text message with a link to book. Patient invitations will be prioritised based on clinical need and age group. Those eligible patients without a mobile phone will be contacted. You should not contact the practice.

Horfield Health Centre

The health centre will be running extra clinics on the following dates:

• Saturday 8th January 2022 9:00 - 12:30
• Saturday 22nd January 202 (all day)

The centre said weekday clinics will also be offered as soon as it secures the vaccine and staff.

Lodgeside Surgery and St George Health Centre (Fireclay Health)

Vaccination clinics are set to be held on the following dates:

• Saturday, 18th December 9am - 11.50am @ St George Health Centre
• Saturday, 8th January 7.50am - 1.30pm @ Lodgeside Surgery

An additional clinic may run at Lodgeside between Christmas and New Year, pending staffing and vaccine confirmation. Keep checking back for more information on the website.

Shirehampton Group Practice

Bookings at the practice are now open for COVID boosters to everyone aged 18 who had their 2nd vaccination three or more months ago. This is part of the big push to get everyone boosted before the end of 2021 and is your best opportunity to get your booster, say the practice.

“If we have an up to date mobile number you should receive an invitation from us by text – please use this to book online with us if possible. If you do not have a mobile we will be calling you as soon as possible or please call the surgery to book your appointment. If clinics are full by the time you try and book please bear with us as we will aim to add more clinics as soon as we can be sure of further deliveries of vaccine.”
