Almost 1,500 PCR test slots now available in Bristol - here’s what happened when we tried to book one

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests are available again in Bristol here’s what happened when we tried to book one this afternoon.

There was concern throughout England earlier on Tuesday when NHS England appeared to run out of PCR tests across the country.

However, after several hours waiting, PCR test slots started to come back online again in Bristol.

We checked the online portal by using the Bristol postcode BS1 1AA.

Immediately we were offered the choice of 1,1OO appointments at a drive-through testing site at Bristol Hospital and more than 100 at a walk-in testing facility on Temple Street, Bristol.
