The South Bristol Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair will bring together more than 35 employers offering hundreds of vacancies, alongside numerous employment support organisations.

It has been organised by local MP Karin Smyth, who said: “One of my key concerns since becoming the MP for Bristol South has been helping young people in this constituency to find good jobs and develop their careers. That’s why I organised the first South Bristol Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair in 2017.

“The Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair is about getting young people thinking about their future and allows them to have a conversation with representatives from one of the many employers and support organisations who attend.
“This event is a collaborative effort between me, the City of Bristol College, Bristol City Council and the DWP. I’m grateful for everyone who is helping to make the fair happen.”

Julia Gray, CEO and Principal of City of Bristol College, added: “It’s a great pleasure to be able to host the South Bristol Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair at our South Bristol Skills Academy campus.
“We’re extremely ambitious for our students and events like this one can help learners from across the city find out more about their potential career options directly from local employers.
“The College’s strapline is “Where Next?” We feel it’s crucially important to challenge our students to think about where they want to go with their careers and it’s our job to provide a nurturing environment to support them to get there.
“Events like this one can make a vital difference in helping learners to define their future direction and we couldn’t be happier to provide our continued support.”
