Bristol's 31 top-performing primary schools based on 2024 grades and Ofsted ahead of application deadline

Tomorrow (January 15) is the deadline to apply for a primary school place in Bristol.

Those with children born between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021, will need to apply for a new reception school place by the deadline at https://parent.bristol.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/parents/admissions

The initial round of allocations will be complete on April 16, 2025.

To make the decision easier, we have compiled the best performing primary schools in the city based on the latest SAT scores achieved by pupils by the end of Year 6 in the summer of 2024 and Ofsted results.

The maximum score a student can achieve is 120 for SAT assessments in reading and mathematics.

On average, students across Bristol and England achieve a score of 105 in reading and 104 in mathematics.

In Bristol, 56% met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths and 6% achieved higher than standard, and in England these figures were 61% and 8%.

Were available, we have included the Ofsted rating of the top-performing schools. In some instances, an overall Ofsted judgement is unavailable, as the school regulator has now scrapped single word scores.
