According to the latest published data from the Department of Education, 43.2% of Bristol pupils obtained a Grade 5 or above (traditional high grade C) in English and Maths at the 2024 GCSEs, which is below the national average of 45.9%.
Multiple secondary schools across the city saw a higher percentage of children attain a grade 5 or above in English and Maths than the national average, whilst 13 schools were below the national average.
