The boss of a community centre in Bristol has said she is “obviously concerned” to hear the nursery on its site is being investigated.

BristolWorld revealed last Friday (November 22) how Little Big Steps at The Park Centre in Knowle West suddenly closed after its registration was temporarily suspended by Ofsted.

The six-week suspension came amid an Ofsted investigation into the nursery after its management reported safeguarding breaches to the education regulator.

Partou, which runs the nursery, said implicated staff members were removed from duty with immediate effect in light of the breaches.

Now Emma Hinton, the director of The Park Centre, has commented on the situation surrounding its tenant.

She said: “Whilst the nursery is not run by The Park, we are obviously concerned to hear about the situation and appreciate the impact that this will have on everyone involved, particularly the families that use the Little Big Steps facility.

“As an organisation, we take safeguarding very seriously and it is clearly important that such matters are thoroughly investigated quickly.

“We are in conversation with the Partou management and are confident that the relevant steps are being taken to address the issues raised.

“Once actions and outcome are agreed, we will post another update.

“In the mean time we will allow the process to take its course.”
