Shetland pony delights residents at Chippenham care home during summer of smiles
Residents at HC-One’s Avon Court Care Home in Chippenham, Wiltshire, were all smiles this week as they welcomed a special guest in the form of a Shetland pony called Vino, for a heartwarming visit that brought joy, laughter, and a touch of magic to their day.
The miniature pony visited lounges and bedrooms, offering cuddles and affection to residents and sparking conversations, happy memories, and a real sense of community spirit. With its gentle nature and calm presence, the pony was a huge hit, especially among residents living with dementia who found the interaction particularly therapeutic.
Animal therapy is just one of the many engaging activities taking place at Avon Court this summer. With the warmer weather, residents have been enjoying a packed calendar of outdoor events, garden parties, and visits like these, making it the perfect time to join life at the home.
