Food hygiene ratings Fishponds: One to five stars issued this year

Food hygiene inspectors have so far awarded five businesses in Fishponds with ratings this year.

Hygiene ratings are done by Bristol City Council, which carry out the inspections and then send the scores to the Food Standards Agency to publish.

The ratings cover the handling of food, how the food is stored, how it is prepared, the cleanliness of the facilities and how food safety is managed.

It does not cover the quality of the food or customer service.

Five star means ‘very good’, four star is ‘good’, three star is ‘generally satisfactory’, two star is ‘improvement necessary’, one star is ‘major improvement necessary’ and zero tar is ‘urgent improvement necessary’.
