'Everyone Hates Elon' group erects billboards urging bigger tax on billionaires like Bristol's James Dyson
A campaign group put up billboards across the UK urging Rachel Reeves to "just tax billionaires" before she announced a £26billion tax hike.
The group 'Everyone Hates Elon' has said it is "helping Rachel Reeves" by unveiling a series of billboards picking out billionaires who could pay more tax. The billboards have been put up across the UK, in Manchester, Bristol, and London, targeting Jeff Bezos, James Dyson, Mark Zuckerberg and Jim Ratcliffe.

The group point out that some of the UK’s wealthiest people pay less tax than ordinary workers due to loopholes and the absence of any tax on wealth. Today, Rachel Reeves announced £26billion in tax rises.

Speaking about the campaign, the group said: “Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves say they’re looking for money for public services - well we’re here to help. A nurse will pay at least 20% tax even as they struggle with supermarket prices.
"Yet someone like Jim Ratcliffe who owns a UK football team can 'move' to Monaco to avoid paying UK tax. Why is it one rule for them and one rule for the rest of us? It’s an absolute joke. Polls always show that British people would back a tax on wealth and we’re only getting more angry.
"From James Dyson owning more UK land than the literal King, to Jeff Bezos spending 55 million on a wedding and sending Katy Perry into space for 11 minutes. It is so abundantly clear that no one can ever spend or will ever need billions of pounds."
