Bristol indoor skatepark unveils two new ramps including one skated by skateboard legend Tony Hawk
Bristol’s indoor skatepark unveils two exciting new ramps, including one which was used by skateboard legend Tony Hawk.
Two new ramps were unveiled at Bristol City Centre’s skatepark, Shredenhams as a gift from the Birdman and co. to celebrate the release of Tony Hawk’s™ Pro Skater™ 3 + 4 game.
They include a half pipe and a brand-new custom ramp with steps and a railing, one of which Tony Hawk himself has skated on.
The skateboard community came together on Saturday (July 12) to celebrate the launch of the game and saw performances by some of the UK’s top skaters and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater tribute band, The 900.

Alex DeCunha, Rianne Evans, Joshua Mayson and Adam Kay were among those who took turns showcasing some of the games' iconic tricks.
The donated custom ramp was designed in collaboration with Shredenhams owners, Andre Seidel and Tim Nokes, as a love letter and thank you to the UK skate scene for its continued support of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise since its initial release in 1999.
Shredenhams co-owner Tim Nokes said: "These permanent additions further cement the park’s role as a safe space for the Bristol skate community to have fun and express themselves, helping us support both grassroots events and all-age skate sessions."
The team behind Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 have also worked with Bristol resident, Nick Harding (AKA @MobiusMaples), a Bristol-based artist who creates sculptures out of recycled skateboard decks which have been used to expiry.

Nick was left paralysed by Guillain-Barré syndrome in 2019, and on the road to recovery he has turned his passion for skateboarding into creating colourful 1 of 1 sculptures.
He was invited to London to meet Tony Hawk at London Zoo (one of the maps in the game) and created a bespoke 3+4 piece which he gifted to Tony as they chatted about Nick's inspiring journey, his artistic process and love for skateboarding.
The meeting ended with Tony gifting Nick his own used skateboard, which he took for a spin as his first time back on a deck in over a year.
