The new Premier, on Hollway Road in Stockwood, has opened in the former McColl’s store, which closed in January 2023.

The McColl’s, which was one of the five Bristol McColl’s shops closed by owners Morrisons, also housed the only post office in the Stockwood area.

Lord Mayor of Bristol, Andrew Varney, joined local residents for the opening of the new store, which he called a “much-needed local shop”.
“A vitally important new Post Office will be opening inside soon as well,” he said.
“Together with new landscaping, coming soon, this area will be a fantastic new heart for Stockwood.”
