Massive Attack will be performing in Bristol for the first time in five years.

The band will be returning to their hometown on August 25 for the Clifton Downs show, which promises to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged.

The show will be marking the culmination of 25 years of climate activism on the part of the band and a first physical fruition of their collaboration with climate scientists and analysts from the renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, including Massive Attack’s commissioning of the only Paris 1.5 compatible roadmap for decarbonisation of the live music sector.

The event will feature a stacked line-up throughout the day, as well as a dedicated talk area in partnership with Novara Media featuring panel discussion and guest speakers, and a field studio where attendees can get their hands on one-off limited edition signed and hand finished prints and t-shirts, with all profits going to Doctors Without Borders.

The concert will be kicking off from 2pm and finish by 10.15pm on August 25. Last entry is at 6pm. There is no re-entry to the event except for those with a child/children who will be allowed to leave the site to drop them off and come back without the child/children.

Massive Attack Bristol - Cloakroom

There will be a cloakroom near the info point on the day of the concert. Larger items will only be accepted at the discretion of the cloakroom staff and are not guaranteed. There is a £4 charge for smaller items and £6 for larger items. Bicycle helmets can be stored for free.

There will be no general public parking on the site and road closures and parking exclusions in the surrounding area.

Shuttle Bus

The Event Shuttle Service will be operated by First Bus and will be running throughout the day between Bristol Temple Meads, The City Centre (Prince Street) and The Downs.

They will run every 10 minutes between 1.30pm and 7pm (last bus from Temple Meads at 7.30pm) and every 30 minutes between 7.30pm and 10pm.

Advance Return Tickets cost £6 via the First Bus app, and £5 for a single/£7 for a return from the driver on the day.

All of the First Bus fleet are wheelchair accessible.

Train

To contribute to the goal of making the concert the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged, five Show Special trains have been arranged.

The routes have been designed to serve areas with the largest number of ticket-holders who will be travelling to Bristol for the show and will depart Bristol one hour after the standard national rail has finished.

Those travelling home by one of the Show Special services will be entitled to a free Zenobe e-bus transfer from Temple Meads to the event, and to either Temple Meads or Parkway after the show to catch your Show Special train home.

You will also be given a wristband that will give you access to a special guest bar on site.

The homeward show special trains will be running from:

- Bristol Parkway to Gloucester calling at Yate, Cam and Dursley at 11.34pm

- Bristol Parkway to Swindon (direct) at 11.30pm

- Bristol Temple Meads to Westbury calling at Bath, Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge at 11.37pm

- Bristol Temple Meads to Chippenham calling at Bath at 11.30pm

- Bristol Temple Meads to Taunton calling at Nailsea, Yatton, Worle, Weston-super-Mare, Highbridge, and Bridgewater at 11.30pm

Train tickets can be booked via Train Hugger. Present your rail ticket to the show stewards at Temple Meads station to board the Zenobe e-bus for a free transfer to the festival and collect your wristband.

Cycling

The bicycle parking is located across from the main event entrance. Visitors will need to bring their own lock and all bikes are left at the owner’s risk.

E-Scooter

The scooter park will be located next to the taxi/Uber pickup point on Ladies Mile, about 500m from the event gate (What3Words: COWBOY.ROSES.UNITS). For safety reasons, Tier use will only be available travelling to the festival and they will not be available after the event finishes.

What is the weather forecast during the Massive Attack concert?

According to the Met Office, there will be sunny intervals changing to partly cloudy by early evening on August 25, with highs of 19°C and lows of 12°C.
