When it comes to beautiful parks, Bristolians have a huge choice wherever they live in the city.
Redland residents are a short walk from the Downs and also Cotham Gardens, but for many locals, Redland Green is the real jewel in the crown when it comes to parks.
Redland Green combines ancient common land, now registered as a village green, and remnants of a former rural environment. A house in the middle of the park dates back to when the land was still Redland Green farm and some of the ash trees are 400 years old.
With a children’s playground, bowling club, private tennis club and plenty of pedestrian and cycle routes connecting the park to Westbury Park and Redland, Redland Green has it all and in May, it still holds its annual village green fair which attracts thousands of locals.

1. Playtime
The popular children’s playground has a zip-wire for older children and plenty for toddlers, too, including a sandpit.
2. Gateway
There are several ways into the park, this one located on Cossins Road, named after John Cossins who owned the land before houses were built there.
3. Quirky
An old red telephone box and Spiderman can be spotted through these gates next to Redland Green Farm house.
4. Ancient
Four ancient ash trees dominate part of Redland Green, the oldest is thought to be 300-400 years old.
