North Somerset's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Somerset's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from midnight, September 17 to 11pm September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 16 to 25 used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses. For closure of Bristol Temple Meads to Taunton route.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 entry slip road lane closure for barrier repair.

M5, from 9pm September 19 to 6am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 21 lane closure for carriageway repairs.

M5, from 10pm September 19 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, J19 exit slip road - carriageway closure for drainage works, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 20, return M5 northbound to junction 19.

M5, from 10pm September 19 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 entry slip road - carriageway closure for drainage works, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 20, return M5 northbound.

M5, from 10pm September 20 to 6am September 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 entry slip road - carriageway closure for drainage works, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 21, join M5 northbound.

A4, from 10pm September 22 to 5am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 exit slip road closure for drainage, diversion northbound to junction 18 and return.

M5, from 9pm September 27 to 6am September 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for central reservation works.

M5, from 10pm October 2 to 6am October 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 entry slip closed for surveys. Diversion via, junction 20 and back.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
